Frequently Asked Questions

What areas do you service?

We proudly service residential and commercial customers throughout the Greater Memphis Area, including:

  • Tennessee: Memphis, Germantown, Collierville, Cordova
  • Mississippi: Olive Branch, Southaven, Hernando, Nesbit

Are the chemicals you use safe for children and pets?

Yes! Our applications are environmentally friendly and safe for both children and pets. We just recommend waiting until the grass is dry (30--60 min) before resuming play or letting pets back on the lawn.

Can you treat my yard for grub worms?

Yes! A lawn pest treatment is included in our annual program. This treatment is applied during Round 4 (May-June) and helps protect your lawn against common Summer pests like grub worms, chinch bugs, armyworms, and more.

Do I need to mow before or after a lawn treatment?

  • Before: You can mow as normal before an application. No special prep is needed.
  • After: Once the application has dried, it is recommended to water it in before mowing for best results, either by rainfall or irrigation. If you need to mow before watering it in, mulch your clippings rather than bagging them so the product stays in the treated area.

We recommend a cutting height of 1.5 to 2 inches for both Bermuda and Zoysia grass. Avoid cutting more than 1/3rd of the grass blade at a time, as cutting too short can stress the lawn and make it more vulnerable to weeds and disease.

Do I need to water after each application?

It depends on the type of application. If your service includes a pre-emergent or insecticide, it is recommended to water it in after it has dried for best results, either by rainfall or irrigation. Post-emergent only applications work effectively once dried and do not require watering in. Granular applications such as fertilizer and limestone do not need to be watered immediately and can rely on rainfall.

How often should I water my lawn?

Most turfgrasses in our area are drought tolerant and only need to be watered 1--2 times per week, even in the heat of Summer. Deep, infrequent watering promotes strong, healthy roots and resistance to pests and fungus/disease.

Tip: Aim for 1--1.5" per week, applied in the early morning. To measure, place a cup near your sprinkler while it's running to gauge when your lawn has received enough water.

Can I opt out of any applications if I don’t want to pay for all 8 each year?

No. Each application is designed to target specific problems at the right time of year. We treat both warm-season and cool-season weeds, including tough grassy weeds, broadleaf weeds, and sedges — each requiring different products and timing.

Skipping applications leaves gaps in protection and allows weeds to break through. The limestone application is just as important, because it balances soil pH so your grass can absorb nutrients properly. Without it, fertilizer won’t be nearly as effective.

For the best results, all 8 applications are needed as part of a complete program.

Can I apply my own fertilizer in addition to your treatments?

No, we strongly advise against this. Our program already includes an adequate amount of NPK (Nitrogen, Phosphorous, and Potassium) at the optimal time of year. Adding extra fertilizer on top of our applications can throw off the pH of the soil, cause nutrient burn, or lead to excessive growth that makes your lawn more vulnerable to disease and pests.

What kind of fertilizer do you use?

Our program includes a premium, slow-release fertilizer designed to provide a steady supply of nitrogen and other nutrients throughout the year. This keeps your lawn green and healthy for several months without the stress of rapid growth spurts.

Why do you apply limestone to lawns?

Over time, fertilizer makes the soil in our area more acidic. Limestone helps raise soil pH back to a balanced level, which is essential for your grass to properly absorb nutrients. Without correcting pH, fertilizer simply won’t be as effective.

Level Up Your Lawn
